Builder Pre-Treatments

Pre-treatments are required by most mortgage companies to help reduce the possibility of termite infestation. These pre-construction treatments should give the new home or business owner at least five years of termite protection before further treatment is required. Here are three types of Pre-contruction termite treatments available at Knox Pest Control.
  Soil Treatment:
Treating the soil in and and around all of the footings of the structure being built with an approved termiticide just prior to pouring the cement into the footers is the most popular pre-treatment.
  Termite Bait System:
Installing a termite bait system such as Exterra is an alternative pre-treatment.
  Borate Treatment:
Treating all of the exposed wood with Bora-Care after the building is framed up is also an effective pre-treatment.
